I believe the answer is: stimulus generalization
stimulus generalization refers to the process when organisms tend to give same response toward stimulus that is similar with a conditioned stimulus.
This process happen when our brain categorize the similar stimulus to be in the exact category as the conditioned stimulus, so it decided to give same response.
