In the 2009 Ricci v. DeStefano case, the Supreme Court decided in favor of white firefighters that many saw as recognizing reverse racism. The ruling affirmed claims that promotion exam results in which whites scored well and black firefighters scored deficiently were unlawfully disregarded.
