One example of poaching that is prevalent in our area is what happened to the Philippine eagle named "Panama". It was found shot and killed by unidentified perpetrators. This is clearly poaching or illegal hunting since the Philippine eagle is already protected by the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR).
