Oce we have the factors, we must equal each factor to zero, then we solve for x to find the zeroes of the equation.

Ex.

(x - 3)(x + 2) = 0

the factors are (x - 3) and (x + 2)

Equal to zero

x - 3 = 0 x + 2 = 0

Solve for x

x = 3 x = -2 and these are the zeroes of the

equation.
