The answer would be 1/2.

Here's my work:
5/6 multiplied by 2 would be 10/12.
1/2 multiplied by 6 would be 6/12.
1/4 multiplied by 3 would be 3/12.
That allows all the fractions to have the same denomination and be looked at equally.
Since 6/12 (1/2) is closer to 10/12 (5/6), 1/2 is the answer.
