well the formula to find slope is m=[tex] \frac{ y_{2}- y_{1} }{ x_{2}- x_{1} } [/tex]
or (if that didnt work) y2-y1/x2-x1
so y2 is -9 and y1 is -3 so -9-(-3) is the same as -9+3 or -6
x2 is 8 x1 is -4 so 8-(-4) or 8+4 which is 12
-6/12 is equal -1/2

So the slope would be -1/2
