what prevents cells from growing very large?

If a cell grew too large it would take to long for materials and nutrients going in and out of the cell to get to the nucleus. It would take much longer for a molecule to reach the center of a very large cell than it would in a small cell. The cell would not function well enough to survive if it grew too large.
