2x + 3y = 1
y = x - 8
2x + 3y = 1
2x + 3(x-8) = 1
2x + 3x - 24 = 1
5x = 1 + 24
5x = 25
5x/5 = 25/5
x = 5
y = x - 8
y = 5 - 8
y = -3
x = 5 ; y = -3
2x + 3y = 1
2(5) + 3(-3) = 1
10 - 9 = 1
1 = 1
